Melissa Brown (she/her) is a weight-inclusive dietitian with a passion for providing compassionate, identity-affirming care for clients from all walks of life. She enjoys partnering with her clients to help them define and reach nutrition, movement, and health goals by identifying and making small, sustainable changes. Melissa meets clients where they are on their journey and has experience working with a variety of nutrition needs including general health and wellness, digestive issues including IBS and GERD, PCOS, heart health, family & child nutrition, cancer (before, during, and after treatment), and preventive health.
Prior to becoming a dietitian, she completed a Masters in Public Health at Saint Louis University and worked in public health research and practice for ten years. She returned to school to complete her nutrition and dietetics coursework at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, followed by a dietetic internship at the St. Louis Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. Outside of private practice, Melissa works on food and nutrition security initiatives.
Outside of the office, you can find Melissa playing at the aerial gym, enjoying her favorite foods (dark chocolate and pasta, but not together), reading, playing board games with her family, running errands by bicycle, and planning camping trips. Originally from a small town in Iowa, she currently lives with her partner, their teenage son, and two farm cats on their small urban farm in Saint Louis, Missouri.
