Olivia Simmons, RDN, LDN
Olivia builds a trusting environment in which clients feel empowered to use evidence-based nutrition knowledge to feel confident making decisions around food.
Olivia Simmons is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who supports clients with an individualized, non-diet approach. She partners with her clients on their journey toward experiencing a full sense of physical and emotional well-being by approaching nutrition counseling with empathy and care. Olivia builds a trusting environment in which clients feel empowered to use evidence-based nutrition knowledge to feel confident making decisions around food.
While working for over 5 years at Vanderbilt Home Dialysis providing care to both adults and pediatrics with renal disease, Olivia grew both passion and skill for building long-term relationships with clients to facilitate sustainable behavior change with a science-based approach. She holds space for the internal and external barriers that can make it difficult to make change, helping her clients to overcome challenges along the way.
Olivia is a Nashville native who has yet to leave middle Tennessee, graduating from Tennessee Technological University in Cookville and completing her dietetic internship at National Healthcare Corporation in Murfreesboro. Her entire career as a dietitian has been surrounded by building relationships with clients and other care team members to provide the utmost compassionate care.
Olivia values working with a variety of clients. In particular, she enjoys working with people for whom food has become a source of stress, guilt, or control; working with clients to heal their relationship with food. She is especially drawn to prenatal and postpartum nutrition, including support of lactation and introduction to solid foods. She enjoys working with children, and her clinical background equips her with a deep base of knowledge in supporting people living with kidney disease, heart disease, and diabetes.
Outside of the office, Olivia enjoys cooking and baking (while mostly eating!), traveling, and hiking. She lives just outside of Nashville with her husband and toddler. Their favorite foods to make together are pasta with meatballs, eggs and avocado toast, and of course cookies! Her favorite traveling destination so far has been the Pacific Northwest.
