Mia Funcheon, RDN, LDN
Mia aims to support and empower individuals in reconnecting to food and their bodies. She believes in using a compassionate approach to guide individuals toward creating a space where freedom and inner peace are centered in their everyday lives.
Mia is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who considers herself to be weight inclusive and trauma-informed. Mia attended Montclair State University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food Science with a concentration in Dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship at Cedar Crest College with a focus in community nutrition.
She began her dietetics career in New Brunswick, NJ as a community-focused dietitian at a non-profit prior to entering the private practice space. As a dietitian, Mia has worked with clients managing eating disorders as well as individuals coming from a diverse, socio-economically challenged community. She acknowledges the nuances that come with health and nutrition, as every individual has unique identities and backgrounds. Her practice focuses on centering oneβs lived experience in order to meet individuals where they are and provide non-stigmatizing, compassionate care.
Miaβs never-ending curiosity and willingness to continue learning allow her to collaborate with individuals so that they can meet their goals and truly heal from trauma around food and body image issues. When Miaβs away from the office, you can find her doing moring yoga, going on walks at her local parks, trying a new brunch spot, or whipping up a new dish in the kitchen.
